Meeting of the APPG

Minutes of the Meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Covid-19 Vaccine
Damage on 20th October 2022 at 14:00
Meeting 20 Oct 22

Sir Christopher Chope OBE MP, The Chair, outlined the purpose of the meeting, including:

  • that the APPG is concerned with those who have suffered adverse reactions to or been bereaved following a Covid-19 vaccination;

  • the APPG’s aims include:

    • reviewing the financial assistance available under the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme, including removing the 60% disablement threshold;

    • to encourage the NHS to take seriously those who have suffered adverse effects from Covid-19 vaccines, and to offer effective help and advice to those affected (whether by offering equivalent clinics to those for Long Covid or otherwise); and

    • to encourage the Government to accept the reality that Covid-19 vaccines have
      caused damage (no matter how small the risk) to those who did the right thing and
      were vaccinated, and to recognise that specific risks were not set out in the initial
      vaccination specifications.

The Chair expressed sympathy to those adversely affected by Covid-19 vaccinations, and introduced
the speaker.
